It's not weird, considering it didn't happen.

Now listen to Britney Spears' pop masterpiece Blackout, and then judge, fool.

I wouldn't say Brittney is a particularly good example of it (although like Goblin said she's done some good things and a lot of her criticism is unjustified), but the k-pop scene ESPECIALLY is brimming with brilliant producers and voices. Their use of auto-tune is almost still creative, and it's still ignored/hated on by a large amount of people who think 'pop is pop man, where are the 12 minute songs???'.

Overrated: The Beatles, Nirvana, Elvis Presley
Disclaimer / Explanation: I do enjoy music by The Beatles and Nirvana, but I really think that they're a bit over-lauded. I've never quite understand how people could proclaim either to be the "best of all time" considering a great deal of the bands that both of them were contending with in their time and all of that jive. I listed Elvis because I think he's intensely overrated. He sort of stole a style of music from African American musicians of the time and cashed in on it to make it mainstream. Not cool, Elvis.

Underrated: Moby Grape, The Electric Prunes, The Talking Heads, The Beach Boys.
Disclaimer / Explanation: I'm really not going to offer a disclaimer here, but I think these four acts are extremely underrated. I'm often hurt when people haven't heard of Moby Grape or The Electric Prunes, and likewise hurt when people act as though The Talking Heads and The Beach Boys were little more than novelty acts. Both of the latter bands should get a lot more credit as musicians / artists.

In Moby Grape your`re talking about a group that that were around in the late 1960`s and missed the boat when it came to achieving success, so its no surprise that few people would`ve heard of them.

The Electric Prunes...........well come on now!!! Just how many people are going to know who they are! This is something of an obscure band.

As for Talking Heads, well they`re hardly underrated and are often regarded by most people, as one of the most important groups to have come out of the late 1970`s New Wave scene.

I may just be speaking in terms of people around my area who have come into my acquaintance with the Talking Heads thing - most of them think they're nothing but a goofy, novelty type act. Any time I mention them, people say things like, "That one song by them...Psycho Killer...is hilarious! They're really funny! They remind me of...(insert novelty act here)."

It's most disheartening.

I think you`ll find that they are highly regarded on this forum. I have most of their discography on CD and think its kind of essential to any music collection.

I don't automatically dismiss pop, but in my mind there's no way someone could say that Britney Spears is underrated because all she's ever done is make boring songs.

As for K-Pop: I forget which I listened to, but I made it through 4 songs of an album before I shut it off. Wasn't at all my style.

Default Joe Walsh

Joe Walsh is an artist that has stood the test of time through the years, a native of Wichita, Kansas, Walsh lived in Columbus, Ohio for years, and subsequently moved to New York City later, he spent time in various bands playing around the Cleveland area, including The Measles, while attending Kent State University.
Joe Walsh has a very unique style as a songwriter, his style has stayed basically the same since the 70s, as can be noticed on this single from the 2007 Eagles, Long Road out of Eden.
I dont really consider him underrated or overrated, (maybe a little underrated), regardless..I like his style/music.
