You know, I think the deftones are underrated. They tend to get crap for being one of those nu-metal ****e bands but they have subtle influences from the strangest places and they utilize "atmosphere" relativly well (as I saw it on Saturday Night Wrist.) Hole in the Earth was one of the better singles to emerge from this year in my opinion.
And I honestly can't say enough good things about their drummer. I am not educated enough to say how well he plays, but he's one of a few drummers that add something to a song besides a simple beat upon which to accent the 2/4 beat. Yes, but don't go by word. I may be wrong but I'm under the impression we have more vanguard stations here than most in the country. Paolo is good, despite what I'd like to say although new shoes was abhorent.

I like the White Stripes...while they're not the best, there are certainly bands out there a lot worse who are really more overrated...Sure everyone has heard Seven Nation Army and probably a decent portion of them can play the intro of that song BUT it's still a good song and better than some of the crap being played right now.
