Mainstream music sucks, so it only makes sense they'd play sucky music for the most part. I've never wondered why certain bands 'make it'.

When I meant mainstream music I meant the current trend of the day, 98 degrees, Backstreet Boys, followed by Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and then 50 Cent, Chingy etc you get the idea. I mean you get the odd band thats good (like the ones you listed) and maybe even the odd trend but overall mainstream music is pretty trash.

Rod Stewart is a perfect example of the shallow, mediocre music loving and just embarrassing attitude of the late 70s. Do Ya Think I'm Sexy, just one song, is all you need to look at. Any credibility he had earned in the 60s and 70s (which is amazing since that music wasn't very good either) has been pissed away. I don't understand why people insist hes any good, all he does is make shitty music, marries 18 year olds so legally hes not a pedophile but I think we all know what kind of porn is on his computer and then moves onto another when his current wife no longer looks young enough. And his current music? We don't need another Michael Bolton, we hate the one we have. In summary, Rod Stewart fucking sucks.
