Default The New Release Thread

This thread is for you to hype up your favorite bands new release!
Right now I'm excited for the Counting Crows, Mars Volta, already got Kanye West's new album, Fall of Troy, and the Postal Service. I was hoping the Mars Volta would drop the whole concept album fetish, but it's not to be. The Counting Crows sounds amazing. A double album so should be hit-or-miss. Hopefully a homerun.

What's wrong with The Mars Volta's concept album stuff?

The storyline really doesn't add much to their albums, I feel. I think it distracts them from their music.

I'm looking forward the The Raconteurs upcoming album release.
Reported to be a 12 track album, one of which will feature Hives vocalist Almqvist.
Supposedly to be a bigger sound than the 'Broken Boy Soldiers' debut.

I'm looking forward to A Silver Mt. Zion's new album.

New Moon, The Stage Names and The Magic Position were my favorites this year. Others I liked were All Of a Sudden I Miss Everyone, Small Steps Heavy Hooves, You You're A History In Rust, The Best Damn Thing, the Destruction Of Small Ideas, Hissing Fauna Are You the Destroyer?, Neon Bible, Friend Opportunity, Sky Blue Sky, Wincing the Night Away, Challengers, Release the Stars, The Ghost That Carried Us Away and On Letting Go. Those were just by bands/artists I liked prior to those releases or bands who debuts i'd been looking forward to. Rilo Kiley and Bright Eyes were major disappointments.

They're a weird band..good, but very different. Vocally especially.
Im really looking forward to Phantom on the Horizon, The Bedlam in Goliath. The albums I liked most this year were Manipulator, Ziltoid The Omniscient!, BTBAM - Colours, New Moon, On Letting Go, and Act II: The Meaning Of, All Things Regarding Ms. Leading, All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone, and The Destruction of Small Ideals. I know im probably missing some but this year has been a good year for music.

What is their status?

I heard very little, but something about Zak and Tom burying the hatchet I suppose
