Groping in a Misty Spread by Basarabian Hills

think these guys get a bad rap but fuck it it sounds nice for what it is. probably the easiest listening "black metal" there can be, but that might just be because the bm influences are either slowly paced or drowned behind the rain-drop synths - either way cool sound and a hell of a lot better than Lustre, who are probably their closest comparable.

Early Swans meets PIL with sludgy and psychedelic undertones. I think it just broke AOTY the year for me today after listening to it a few times.

I didn't know how cool this was gonna be but it is cool to the max. It's 100% fuzzed out psych black metal dream pop (it doesn't sound like any of these "blackgaze" artists people talk about, but sounds truer to what that should be, it's kinda like the Angelic Process). this is some of the best sound to be heard. this is also how blackgaze should be normally, it's truer to MBV and absolutely textural overkill
