House of Stone by Sorne

Great great stuff. Very spiritual. Sounds have a very prominent Aboriginal influence. Almost hymn-like

Wild Country is the debut EP by a wonderful band called Wake Owl.
I think the lyrics are authentic and inspiring at the same time.
The guitar and violin parts match perfectly, beautific. Highly recommended!

Leisure by Blur

Probably one of my least favorite Blur albums overall, but lately I've been listening to this album like crazy and loving every second of it.

Alison Crockett Mommy, What's a Depression?

Funky neo-soul. This is her 3rd album and a mix of covers (mostly standards) and originals that are steeped in political and social conscious themes. I love her voice and plan to check out her past albums.

Pretty wicked album, that. Sorne is considered a mainstay over in Austin here in Texas: last I heard he was trying to get his sophomore record crowdfunded, but not sure if he hit the numbers he wanted or not.

As for me-

Mystic Prophecy - Killhammer (2013)

Reviewed this for an online hard rock/metal magazine recently - very meaty fun & modern take on the whole power metal aesthetic pioneered by Judas Priest, but there's a lot of HammerFall and Blind Guardian in here too.

Extreme - III Sides To Every Story (1992)

A terrific yet underrated album that I sort of ran into by happenstance during my random explorations, but ended up enjoying thoroughly. Rather unique sound going on here - the early 90's funk metal thing colliding head on with elaborate, theatrical songwriting straight out of the Queen and Beatles playbooks. Doesn't fit into any one genre box too cleanly..and that's a good thing in my book.

'Fortress' by Alter Bridge.

Such a fantastic album. Anyone who has never heard of Alter Bridge, check them out. Their lead vocalist Myles Kennedy is also the frontman for Slash's solo project.

Run The Jewels - Run The Jewels (2013)

Probably underrated this to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I have always loved it, but I am starting to think it is up there with EL-P's best work. Definitely my AOTY after reconsideration.

So, this is not too far off from Skeletal Lamping, which might be why I'm very fond of it right now.
