Thanks to Comus's Review Corner - I just discovered this..

..and have been listening to it extensively.
I'm not sure if they meant it to be, but I think this is the closest approximation of Loveless that I have ever heard.

I thought she was sticking a straw up her nose. Kids these days.

That needs to change.

^ I love this album. Such great, reasonably laid-back night-time listening. The lyrics are out of the top-drawer, as per norm. Shame it's probably gonna be his last album though.

^ Possibly my best find of the week. Absolutely superb stuff from the Aussie singer-songwriter - sounds just as intense and well-honed as the best of a certain Nick Cave's stuff, with the added twist of the guy's distinctive, baritone voice.

^ Still every bit as awesome as I remember it being. Can't remember when I last gave it a proper end-to-end listen like I did this morning though.

^ And I think I'll be digging this out shortly too.

I can't go more than a couple years without some Violator. I think I have bought the CD 3 times.

Definitely their best in my opinion (though I'm quite a fan of Speak and Spell and Music For the Masses too). I've still got my mangy old CD of it from about 5 years ago - must remember to look out for the extended version sometime.

My CD is also very old & mangy - I bought it used years ago.
These days such things aren't necessary but before DLs, the used bins at record stores were essential.

Yeah, definitely. I remember the good old days of itching to get my month's payslip when I was a teenager just so I could blow it all on the HMV bargain bin or amazon's 2nd-hand offers - those were the days eh :D

Not feeling it, sorry. I had checked out some BMSR samples in the past and they didn't appeal to me either.
