Tone deaf's probably not the right word to describe my apparently objective wrongness in thinking that an hour of staticy randomness is as varied in sounds throughout as an avant-pop record

I can call out logic for being ****ty too, like the logic that 4'33 is music or the logic that there's any sort of notable variation throughout the runtime of MMM
|
It's definitely among the most textured albums I've ever heard. Pretty much something new every time right. after another. Just as something gels in my head a new surface rises

Bolded: Ja...I'm just gonna assume that you didn't even listen to the five minutes of the album that you said you did if you keep making uninformed and painfully ignorant comments such as this. |

I highly doubt an album reviewer could properly review an album based off of a third of the content.
There are plenty of albums where songs work horrid on their own but with in the context of the album they are awesome. There are also albums where I thought half of it was awesome while the other half was meh. So you really can't judge an album based off of a third of the content. To compare that to missing a second of an album is ****ty logic. |

One time I listened to someone pooping and I could swear I was hearing the pained cries of Jesus on the cross. Then another time I listened to someone pooping and it sounded like the wailing of pure ecstasy on the exact moment that Donald Trump's parents conceived him. I was like whoa

I've heard more than enough of MMM
|
I highly doubt that. My guess is that you hate the album without any knowledge of what it sounds like because it's a popular opinion to jump on.
|
Literally told you a page back that I've skipped through the entire thing mostly because I wanted to know if it ever changed in any notable way (it didn't). I'm so sorry it's so hard for you to grasp that someone could genuinely think the album is a pile of feces
|
There's an obvious difference between the types of album we are discussing here and I think there's certainly more validity in dismissing MMM without hearing the entire thing as compared to Art Angels. However, I also don't think you need to have heard Art Angels in its entirety to dismiss it.

Glass Candy - B/E/A/T/B/O/X I'm getting into more electronic music, and this comes in the form of Italo Disco. I.e synth pop. |

White Fence - For the Recently Found Innocent (2014) I was digging this already last year, and probably posted it in this thread back then to. But each time I play it, it amazes me with its perfect 60s psychedelic pop & garage-ness. It's one of the best 60s albums that didn't come out in the 60s. |

Mountain Bus - Mountain Bus (1971) Sounds like a blend of Grateful Dead, Moby Grape, and Jefferson Airplane. Their debut and only album. Leslie West & Mountain sued the band for using the name "Mountain" which forced them to use a disclaimer on the album which is still in effect to this day. Mountain Bus - Sundance https://youtu.be/eowmEEsKAn4 |
In a Silent Way by Miles Davis. Herbie Hancock Sextant is also quite amazing.

Wavves - V (2015) Really enjoying this album. Not quite King of the Beach level but easily a top 5 for the year. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...3d/Meliora.JPG Ghost - Meliora (2015) Now this is probably the biggest surprise of the year for me. Ghost came out with a fantastic record this year that really amplifies their strengths while diving into some new territories. |

DJ Cactuar - Amor ubano (2015) An RYM friend sent me a message wishing me a good day and that I might like to check out his new album. So I did, and it's really bloody good. A cool mix of electronic dance grooves, put together in quite a unique way. It sounds like what I imagine the vaporwave take on power electronics would be like. |
^Your RYM friends are using you :p: Naw it's not bad.
Been really digging this new Floating Points album. My friends at pitchfork asked me to listen. http://media.npr.org/assets/img/2015...f-s300-c85.jpg |
I'm generally too lazy to post in this thread, but **** it...
Arkangel - Dead Man Walking (2000) http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...JL._SL500_.jpg I once saw this album basically described as 90s metalcore with a ****load of guitar leads, and that's really not off. This is as brutal a metalcore album as you could ever come up with, and it is filled to the gills with Slayer riffs that make it sound like anything other than a 90s metalcore album. Or at least like a 90s metalcore album with a ****load of Slayer riffs. Seriously, why every other hardcore band didn't decide to pump their albums full of Slayer riffs is beyond me, because they obviously make everything better than Jesus. Pretty sure I've spammed this band all over the thread at this point, but according to Last.FM, this is my most listened to band, and that is entirely due to this album. Yes, I've pretty much listened to one album more than I have listened to the discographies of any single artist over the past year. Cause Arkangel are that ****ing awesome. |
