Pretty sure this'll be my release of the year. OM strays further away from doom and into eastern-tinged psychedelic rock, with great success. The (relatively) new drummer breathes life into the band and works well with Al's evolving style. It's a near-flawless album, my only complaint being the uninspired thrice-repeated sample used at the beginning of "Sinai".

GET IT

Highlight: "Haqq al-Yaqin"... an epic of a closer which harkens back to the hypnotic drumming OM is known for, throwing in tabla drums and other awesome instruments for one ball-shriveling trip
Been really enjoying this one for a few months. Great to smoke to.

MC 900 Ft. Jesus, Welcome To My Dream. MC 900 Ft. Jesus is a classically trained musician who switched over to making hip hop. This album is heavily influenced by jazz and has a lot of horn solos. Very enjoyable. Also, very 90's. If you like 90's alternative hip hop, this may be for you.

Sopor Aeternus & the Ensemble of Shadows - "Les Fleurs du Mal - Die Blumen des Bösen" The album that introduced me to the Sopor, recently listened to it again. One of my favorite groups.

Ville Valo - "Baudelaire in Braille (Acoustic)"

Ophelia's Dream - "All Beauty is Sad"

:Of the Wand and the Moon: - "Lucifer".

Finally listened to this yesterday and loved it. My Om favourites are Conference and Variations, which are both incredible trips, and this could be right up there with them. I went looking to buy it yesterday actually but they had sold out.

Yeah I'm partial to Conference myself.

I ran into the same problem when I tried to buy the vinyl back in August . Guess I'll get it for Christmas.

I remember buying that back when it came out based on loving the single "The City Sleeps". I could never get into the album beyond that song though. Maybe I should go back and give it another listen.

I admit, at first I thought I didn't really like it (MC 900 has a delivery similar to Eminem, which is a little cheesy in my opinion), but then I realized I had listened to it three or four times with no intention to stop, and I decided that I did indeed like it. It's worth another go.
