Just giving this a good listen for the first time in years. Despite being one of his more mellow efforts, it's still as dark and contemplative as anything Nick Cave was writing back then (being wedged between Tender Prey and Henry's Dream as it is), and it's definitely one of his best and more overlooked albums. Shame about the rubbish sleeve cover though.

Had this for a few years and just ripped it to PC. It has some quite decent covers on there.

Haha ok so not what I was expecting at all! Million Dead, Hundred Reasons, YCNI:M? Doesnt sound like it should work at all but I've got to admit it sounds interesting at least!

jackhammer 03-16-2009 07:18 AM

It's different and a few bands I generally don't like as a rule but as the Smiths write perfect little 4 min Pop songs you can't go wrong really!

Piss Me Off 03-16-2009 07:18 AM

Looks terrifying to me.

jackhammer 03-16-2009 07:20 AM

Yeah but I do have lapses in taste now and again and The Smiths are not one of my favourite bands anyhow.

I think thats the part of the appeal for me. It sounds like something I just have to hear now.
