The Strokes-Room on Fire
Been on a bit of a Strokes kick these last few days. They are pretty undefeated in terms of sticking on an album, dancing around and singing along. Awesome album.

I listened to this once or twice and hated it. Then I was driving around and this album came on and it hit me in the face like a ton of bricks. Now I can't get enough of it. I think there's a very big 70s vibe to this, as well as some Talking Heads influence in it.

I've always wanted to hear the Flying Burrito Bros. I'm downloading right now.

Let you know what I think.

I did. Little too honky tonk for me.

Ramleh - Hole in the Heart

Great Power Electronics, the whole Broken Flag scene is becoming quite a fertile area of discovery.

I liked this album before but the textures, the thinly veiled anger, the melancholy and the joy of music seeps through so much at this time for me.

I don't want to be depressed but I don't want joy either. I just want that quintessential melancholic sound that I have come to love from us Brits.

I thought it was a fantastic album before what happened to my family but now I think it is superlative.

In one track we go from wistful nostalgia to controlled outrage and anger. Succinct. Stunning live rendition.

Gas - Pop
keith! recommended this album to me when I asked him for some deep, immersive ambient. This album went above and beyond my expectations.

I had an absolutely unreal listening experience with this album in the early hours of New Year's Day.
