It was the whole package not just the lyrics.
And personally I find lyrics about this sort of thing ..

a bit more palletable than lyrics about this sort of thing ...

Apparently, you didn't notice the metaphors in that song. Maybe give it another listen.
BTW, the song Subdivisions is social commentary at its best.

No I did notice them I just didn't think they were very good.

I like that song. I understand it to mean that we're not all the same and therefore any attempt to enforce equality will never properly work. In the last verse, the lines "For they passed a noble law. And the trees are all kept equal. By hatchet, axe, and saw" suggests that humans still insist on enforcing equality, despite the consequences and horrible pruning required.

Ok, this is ridiculous. Rush did pioneer a new type of synthesizer use, but ever heard anyone more annoying than Geddy Lee?

The vocals are an acquired taste and they would benefit from another vocalist, but his basswork is ridiculous. I think he's a brilliant songwriter and he's one of my main inspirations as a bassist.

Well, obviously it's not as good as The Fall song, 'The Power of Thunder and Lightning'
j/k

Are you sure you can keep this up for another 10 albums because that's how many Rush albums I seem to have misunderstood ;)

Haha, I can't see you listening to the prog bands like Rush, Genesis and Yes. Maybe some King Crimson though, especially Red.
