Fair enough, Im not a complete Oasis hater, Definitely Maybe is a great album, slide away is just stunningly brilliant.

I just don't get morning glory, so many poor tracks and as ive already said the title track in particularly makes me want to puke.

I was one of the few who prefers the second album to the first, and yeah Slide Away on an acoustic guitar is just a great song. I can see why people dislike Oasis, Beatles tribute act, Beatles for chavs etc.

But I won't ever have a bad word to say about them, well I might have some bad words to say about Liam. He's a bit of a tool.

And here is a pie chart I made describing why I think it sold...

:/

It's a pretty widely accepted opinion that The Gift sucks. Have you heard their debut, In the City? It's much more punk-oriented, and a lot less poppy.

Some things that have been brought up made me think that many times, someone not "getting" an album has to do with their age or simply not being into that type of the music when it was popular. I'm sure that's already been mentioned in the thread we just merged with, and it's something I'm always aware of when someone doesn't get/like an album, myself included.

Obviously that's not the only reason someone wouldn't like something, but it can play a big role.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

A few people I know love the album! I've always been told that's their best. A town called maaaaaaaaaaalice etc.

I always kind of assumed that's their best work! Is it really deemed as poor?! And I've heard In The City once or twice, but I've always concentrated on The Gift, mainly because I believed it to be branded as their most popular album.

To me the Jam has always just been good background music, nothing to really seriously contemplate, In The City is pretty okay though
