This.

I'm going to give Loveless another try because someone said what they really liked about it.

I believe in giving albums multiple tries before passing judgment but sometimes if it's painful it's not worth it.
but the last track on the album 'Soon' is by far the best thing on the album. hehehe

Can the last track really save an album that made him want to turn it off?

I feel the same way. I quite like Loveless and I know I haven't given it enough listens to fully appreciate it. However, that track has always stood out. Love the drums.

I just don't like it, distorted guitar riffs, where you can't hear the singer or the lyrics. No drums either. It's more a matter of not getting it than hate..

What's the big deal with it? Mediocre at best for me.

3-1, I will find 2 other albums you love, and hate on them. Just to spite you.

I could all the sudden hear those melodies and loved that he could create them in such a mess of guitars. The music is meant to be heard as a big amorphous sound...the songs are entities within themselves.

Well, you get the idea...I doubt it will change your mind. At least you like the Smiths. You saved yourself on that one.

There must be something to it?

But at the moment, I don't rate it. A lot of the time, I'll say that, and then a few months later really like it. I make myself look hypocritical a lot, but there's nothing wrong with changing your mind eh.

Yay, I like redemption!
Summarised:
So some albums/bands, are liked, and others aren't, but "to each their own, you know". However, people should keep listening to the album they hated, cause they might just "get it".

I guess that's what happened so far, and will continue to happen...

Notice there are large chunks of text around the bolded statements that may - to some - constitute what could be considered a discussion.

Just because it can be summarized in one or two lines doesn't mean it isn't one.

In fact, I just read someone is willing to give Loveless another try. Mission accomplished.

Even though you're wrong and you should sit there in your wrongness, I really do admire the commitment of going through the conversation, quoting it and then bolding the bits you wanted.

^I already went through it many times, and felt there are no evolution... Though these discussions would've been much greater in the designated artist's thread.

You're all describing your experience with the album, then telling the other person that "I know that it's a matter of taste blah blah" ... It's like you aren't even discussing, for fear of an argument.

How about we discuss more albums, instead of discussing HOW to Discuss them.

Please continue...
