Weaknesses: The various lineup changes and break-ups, lack of stylistic consistency beyond one or two traits, some weak material in the late 80's, seeming inability to get someone above and beyond decent as a vocalist. (sorry Belew ^^)

I have to say I much prefer Lake and Wetton over Belew. Belew is the reason I have a hard time getting into any of their work from 81-on. Discipline and The Power to Believe are the only two I've heard during that time, though, but both have some very cheesy vocal/lyrical stuff, IMO. So to me, vocals and general inconsistency throughout their career are KC's weaknesses. I agree with the strengths posted.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Spot on.

Noooooo, I love her. I would go *** for her in a heatbeat.

Talking Heads

Strengths: CHANGED PUNK FOREVER. If you listen to "Nevermind the Bollucks" and think that they didn't overthink the album, I would highly reccomend you allow "Remain in Light" to absolutly blow your mind. Its gorgeous. The lyrics, the crazy/charismatic singing, the tribal music influences, the brilliant guitar....

Weaknesses:...but I'll admit that if you're not in the mood to listen to it, it gets highly annoying. Perhaps the last thing I want to hear when I'm really upset is, "TAKE A LOOK AT THESE HANDS. TAKE A LOOK AT THESE HANDS. TAKE A LOOK AT THESE HANDS. I'MA GOVERNMENT MAN."

And got far too carried away with that whole 'world music' thing.

The Fall
Strengths: WHen theyre on, sound like no other punk band, yet encapsulate punk perfectly, 'Hex Enduction' is spot on.

Weaknesses: Far too prolific...it's clear if someone downloaded ten completely random Fall songs they probably wouldn't like them. Then again, thats why I research bands/albums before I listen to anything.

Magnetic Fields
Strengths: Absurdly catchy, and also the perfect meld of funny, clever, simple lyrics I love.
Weaknesses: See above.

Nine Inch Nails

Strengths Trent Reznor is a musical genious. He also proved that industrial music could be catchy as well as progressive.

Weakness Sometimes his music is simply too dense and feels as if it is going to collapse under the weight of itself. Lyrics usually are sub par. Overall it takes itself far too seriously.

Very well said.

Minutemen

Strength: Great Ideas musically, guitar, bass, and drumwork are excellent

Weakness: Their songs are too f**king short. i mean i can understand where they're coming from, but it seems that when i'm getting into one of their songs, it's already over.

oh and to anyone who says, what do you expect from the Minutemen, f*ck you

i can understand where you're coming from but that's what hardcore was. it's not like there was much else to the songs; they purposely left them short to leave out the production flourishes that usually accompany pop music.

good to see you're enjoying them this much though.
