Chris Brown is awful.

Yeah right.
That long hair wont cover that red-neck boy.

Urban Hat€monger ? 04-10-2008 11:59 AM

I have mixed feelings about The Police.

On one hand they have some decent songs & Stewart Copeland always comes across as a sound bloke.

On the other hand there's Sting.

Zombeels 04-10-2008 01:00 PM

I like the Police except Ghost In The Machine and Sting by himself is nauseating.

naw, i don't have long hair anymore i got a mohawk now and i'm not a red-neck

boo boo 04-10-2008 03:18 PM

I like Lynyrd Skynyrd, fanbase of annoying rednecks notwithstanding.

pheurton 04-10-2008 03:27 PM

I would say the Smiths but last time that turned ugly; and now I quite enjoy meat is murder. So, Jeff Buckley.

No amount of disparity to your social norm will change the fact that you slept with your cousin.

boo boo 04-10-2008 03:53 PM

So yeah, all I can do is bitch about how I like most of the artists people mention.

So I'll try this game for once.

Hmm.....

Morrissey... This guys douchebaggyness just prevents me from enjoying any of his solo music.
Oasis... Because I honestly don't get it, why are these guys so popular with the hipsters? I honestly don't see what seperates their music from adult contemporary crap I hear on mainstream radio all the time.
Dream Theater... Well they are liked in the prog and metal communities at least.
The Jesus & Mary Chain... I couldn't stand Psychocandy. I thought it was crap. So yeah, I don't get it.
Nick Drake... This is like, the definition of boring for me.
The Killers... A combination of the fact that they're horrible and that Brandon Flowers is a huge douche.
Nickelback... Sure everyone SAYS they hate Nickelback, dosen't explain why they still sell albums by the sh*tload.

What's wrong with Oasis? I don't think you know what adult contemporary is.

I actually really agree with this.
I do like Oasis, but I would never say that they are good by any means, 'cause honestly, they aren't really
And I totally see why so many people don't like them

Yeah I do. My mom owns a nail salon, she has a radio thats on all the time, she keeps it on one station and thats all it freaking plays. Goo Goo Dolls, Counting Crows, Matchbox Twenty, Hootie & the Blowfish, etc.

Oasis reminds me of those bands. In fact moms station plays them every now and then.

Molecules 04-10-2008 05:31 PM

Guns n' Roses are just puerile. I took me a very long time to get into Bob Dylan, and I still think the man himself is a belligerent prick.

But my main beef is with Arcade Fire. I would elaborate but I'm off to bed now :D
night! x

enemyat_thesix 04-10-2008 05:37 PM

oh how could I forget Bob Dylan... not the greatest songwriter of all time, by far

Zombeels 04-10-2008 05:53 PM

So what is baroque/indie pop? Name some bands.

I'd also like to add:
Eminem
Death Cab for Cutie

debradarko 04-11-2008 04:46 AM

i agree with death cab for cutie

Molecules 04-11-2008 09:08 AM

ooh I've got a good one - Dead Kennedys.
They should be right up my street (first wave hardcore, conscientious lyrics) but the singer just annoys the hell out of me. 'It's a holiday in Cambodia!' argh. The campy thing just doesn't gel with the music

Alfred 04-11-2008 09:53 AM

Really?

I think he has the best voice of any of the singers in the first wave of hardcore bands.

Yeah Jello's voice is great compared to the angry screaming that the other bands were using

jacklovezhimself 04-13-2008 01:12 AM

I hope I don't get to much **** for this like Zombeels and the whole Smiths thing but I am not digging Pink Floyd like I feel I'm supposed to. I don't hate them but I don't feel it.

analogtones 04-13-2008 10:06 AM

I would say most things on mainstream radio. Most.

joyboyo53 04-13-2008 10:20 AM

This board has a lot of kids fresh out of diapers so you won't get much slack. But if you posted that at one of the classic rock forums I'm at, they'd be yellin' "get a rope"
