Download - about 50%
Taking it from my friends - around 20%
Buying used stuff as give away cheap sh!t charity from rich ppl - 20%
The rest - Buying it normally, mostly the one's of my favorite bands just to satisfy my brain/to have that 'I have it!' sentiment.

I generally either buy my music at Amazon.com or scoop it up from a torrent site.

If it's an indie band of some kind, I'm likely to buy the album at the show.

That's a virus waiting to happen.
Isn't Torrent the same thing without the viruses?

If you're a student, you can use Ruckus for free. Of course, that's all .wma downloads. But if you're a tricky bastard (like me) and you have Windows XP you can remove the DRM-encryption using some small wizardry. From there I put it into iTunes.

They've got most indie artists but the prominent band singles are removed, as are the HUGE bands (basically just the Beatles). I did find a wholesome Exile On Main St. on there... Anyways, it's legal;100% spyware free and virus free and oh yeah, its free.
