A few years ago all we had scene-wise was "Pub-rock" - which basically delineates an AC/DC cover band, nowadays every man and his favourite pet is in an indie-electro band and there is still just as much ****e on the local scene.

There is a glut of inane and dull music being poured out of every country. Perhaps because we hail from Australia we just get a closer look at all dull **** pouring out. But nonetheless over the past few years I have heard some amazing Australian artists who don't even compare to stuff I listen to from international musicians.

I hated that pub-rock scene and you have no idea how sick I am of those indie-electro bands circulating around live venues at the moment.

I like Flight of the Conchords. I voted for New Zealand.

I think I would put both of them in the bad category

...but we were talking more local melbourne scene

Does It Offend You, Yeah? is one of the only indie electronic bands I could get into. They remind me of a dirtier Daft Punk, overdrive cranked to the Big Black setting. I'm not crazy about them, but they make shatty bands like MGMT and CSS look even worse.

A while back I tried listening to LCD Soundsystem (after all three albums were shoved down my throat until my esophagus bled) and I thought they were boring as hell. Shame though, I've read James Murphy's lyrics and they are extremely well written.

...i love lcd soundsystem
I dont mind some of those bands
the majority is just fun party music
just good to dance to

I always find it interesting that Britain wins these things...

America invented rock, jazz, r&b, rap, country, and blues

America outdid every other country in jazz, r&b, rap, country, and blues

Britain is arguably better for rock...

America>Britain
