The UK shade it. The US is a close second.

I've been getting more into American bands lately, but thats probably because I live in the US now and have way more exposure to American music.... and to my suprise, its every bit as excellent as the UK and Aussie bands I also love...

hm hm.... That's tough but I guess I go for the UK... just because most of the (english speaking) bands I like come from there.
US would be second for me.

This thread's been going on for so long that I can't remember if this has been said before, but I think if we're talking about it in terms of ratios, Jamaica wins hands down. For a country with less people in it than some of the cities in the US and UK they sure as hell have produced a lot of great musicians.

Problem is that for better or worse the scene is not that well known and rarely checked out even by 'Savvy' MB folk. Sly and Robbie are even more prolific than the infamous Funk brothers yet barely get a mention

America. It had blues, jazz and rock roots before England was doing ****.

Although I'll admit if it wasn't for England a lot of my favorite bands wouldn't be here.
