Nick Cave, The Birthday Party, Midnight Oil, The Seekers, The Cat Empire, Gotye, Karnivool, Cog, Yothu Yindi, Silverchair, Paul Kelly, John Butler Trio, Crowded House, The Living End, Sleep Parade, Grinspoon, Dead Letter Circus, Josh Pyke...
Just because you haven't heard of Australian music, pretty much because it's impossible for Australian artists to make it big in the US and UK due to the state of the industry, doesn't mean there hasn't been any good music produced. |

Crowed House, Neil Finn comes from New Zealand, either country they're one of my favorites. The Easybeats The Bee Gees (aslo claimed by Manchester) Three Dog Night The Hoodoo Gurus (great band) Savage Garden (Midnight Oil is hideously awful)

The Hoodoo Gurus are awesome, great choice. Same with INXS. Not much of a fan of the others though. Edit: Yeah Midnight Oil seem to be either a love them or hate them band, I personally love them and the individuality and political stances they brought to the Aussie rock scene at that time. |
