I think Germany has more good English speaking bands than Ireland ,
Canada , Australia & New Zealand combined.

Heh. Several favorites of mine come from Australia so I definitely have to cut them some slack.

Yeah, it's pretty crazy that New Zealand was on the list of options but Jamaica wasn't.

I agree. Jamaica and Sweden both should have been on the list. I count Sweden as an English-speaking country, since English is a required subject in schools and pretty much everyone speaks it reasonably well.

And Sweden has a ton of great music.

Opeth and the melodic death metal acts.

Even though there are many favourite American bands I listen to, I still voted for UK.

Well, if we are talking about metal, there are many i could think of.

Meshuggah
Opeth
Pain Of Salvation
Dismember
Dissection
Sacramentum
At the Gates
Dark Tranquility
InFlames(old)
Soilwork
Bathory
Bloodbath
Katatonia
Candlemass
Entombed
Amon Amarth
Silencer
Marduk
Diabolical Masquerade
Arckanum
Evergrey
Therion
Falconer
Thyrfing

Obviously, you need to like metal for this. From an outside point of view, i think some of these bands are great.

It doesn't really matter, but atm I would say Australia simply because that is what I am obsessed with (The Necks, Dead Can Dance) but depending on the mood it can easily change to multiple other countries...

But overall, I would say American simply because my tastes are so entrenched in musical roots (Jazz and Blues) that it would take the cake.

Well, Marduk are good. or atleast, I like some of their stuff. Depends on my mood though.
Brutal-fast black metal. Black metal in general takes time to get used to. It's just how you look at it. Sh!t for some, music for others. Obviously, you haven't listened to bands like Dark Funeral or 1349.(which is more or less in similar vein and i guess you wouldn't want to)
