Immortal Technique (Ill. but fairly well known in the underground scene if thats a turn off)

Gang Starr (I've heard a song or two and in my opinion they're really cheesy but a lot of people seem to dig them. they've got a good scratch dj.)

Hilltop Hoods (I LOVE these guys. Australian hip hoppers with a very unique sound. Love all their stuff. To get started listen to The Nosebleed Section)

Hey. I'm no expert, but try jailhouse rock with alot of slow improvisation to make the long instrumental fills.

or Boom Boom Boom by um....John Lee Hooker.

Just Try Some Blues Improvisation. It works. Ya know. Just a B flat E flat F deal.

I need some music to match the mood. As dark, gloomy and depressing as possible. I don't really know anything like this but nothing I have is working for me right now.

I need some more funk, so far all I've got is Funkadelic, Sly & the Family Stone, and George Clinton.

And I know about Parliament, but I need a recommendation on which album to start with.

Give the Ohio Players a try as well. They've got some great tunes.

Have you tried Katatonia? Maybe their "Tonights Decision" album. Depressing, dark and gloomy are 3 words I would describe its perfection.

Try Leviathan's The Tenth Sub Level of Suicide, it's quite possibly the scariest black metal ever, but it's so moody that it would be exactly what you want. Think demons wailing in misery while being tortured by the creatures in the final circle of hell. All encapsulated by the soundtrack that would undoubtedly play at the end of the world.

OR

you could be a gay and listen to some emo
