I would recommend Pentangle and Bert Jansch. Bert Jansch went solo after his career in Pentangle, but its all great music.

Ok, I'm also getting into 50s doo wop. I don't know where to start though. There's SO many artists, and most recoded a lot of the same songs. Can someone set me on the right path to get into this stuff?

Definitely go with It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back and Fear of a Black Planet in that order.

"Apocalypse 91… The Enemy Strikes Black" is my personal favorite.
It's the first album from them i heard, and it clicked.

personally I think when you're trying to get into the earlier hip-hop it's better to follow it from their first album to most current. follow it like a story.

so start from Bumrush the Show, and continue

Space Chimp's Cup is pretty good psychedelic noise rock a lot like Lightning Bolt. Their latest release, Thriller, might be worth checking out, but it sounds very generic, slow, and boring to me.

And to the person asking about longboarding music, do you like ambient drone stuff? That's without a doubt my favorite thing to listen to when I skate somewhere. I think Sun Araw is one of the most accessible in the ambient drone type stuff, and it's a bit trippy which holds interest.
