Default Bands with a grunge feeling?

Basically, I'm asking for bands with a grunge feeling, that aren't really grunge. I don't care if you list post grunge bands, or bands that just sound like it. List as many as you can, and add links if you can.

Damn, I think I am going to check all of that out...

Except Sigh. I already listen to those guys. I played the hell out of Imaginary Sonicscape when I first heard it...great great stuff. I'm not a huge metal expert, but I was very proud of myself when I showed a bunch of metalheads Sigh and they all loved it.

I am looking for anything in the same vein as Earth's 2008 album The Bees Made Honey In The Lion's Skull.

Please don't say SunO))) or Boris. Thanks.

It's not as good as The Bees Made Honey In the Lion's Skull but Om's Conference of the Birds is definitely an album you need to look into if you like Earth, Sun O))), and Boris.

If I had to do it in order, I would probably go like this:

Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors (2002)
Green Carnation - Light of Day, Day of Darkness (2001)
Peccatum - Lost in Reverie (2004)
Sigh - Imaginary Sonicscape (2001)
Diablo Swing Orchestra - Sing-Along Songs for the Damned and Delirious (2009)
Mr. Bungle - California (1999)
Vintersorg - The Focusing Blur (2004)
Stolen Babies - There Be Squabbles Ahead (2004)
Solefald - In Harmonia Universali (2003)
Meshuggah - Destroy, Erase, Improve (1995)

I think that would be a good order for Dayvan Cowboy to follow as I don't know how familiar she is with the guttural vocals found in more extreme metals. It can be very hard to get into, especially for women I find (I'm not saying EVERY woman, just some). Meshuggah might do something for you, but it might not, it's very chaotic, but Jens Kidman does some of the best guttural vocals in metal.

As for you duga, I think you could go in at any album and be fine, but kudos for already knowing Sigh. I also remember introducing some metalheads to Sigh via Imaginary Sonicscape and a few joints, definitely earned some cookie points because these were some of real metalheads.

I liked that Sunn O))) album Black One, Didn't I? I think I can take some growled vocals, as they didn't really bother me before.

It's got to have fairly long stretches with no words (just music or beat or something) so we can use it under dialogue. It's gotta be serious, and it's gotta be gritty. I'm thinking something actually about prison or getting busted or something. Something about how much it sucks to be prison. Not "boo yah, bein' a gangsta rules", but more "damn, i miss my kids and my girl" sorta stuff. Gettin' it?

Bluesy, soulful is good. Cheery bad.

Thanks much.
i would go with something, like folsum prison blues, but with a edgy female vocal, and some black label society sounding track

That was like 3 years ago so I'm assuming they have what they're looking for.
But I thought you were asking for something like that so here's this:
