North Carolina is pretty much way cooler than wherever you live (lead singer, instrumental)

In the last 4 years I have spent significant time (at least a year) in Cincinnati, Wilmington, NC, and NYC. North Carolina has by far the most kickass music scene of any of them. NYC has lots to offer, but NC has some sick newer bands, including one of my current favorites, The Avett Brothers. Cincinnati, btw, has a terrible scene. Lots of badly performed emo, metal and the like. A few gems, like Peter Adams, who I think released a new album recently which I haven't gotten, but mostly not so good
