Thats the norm around here, don't you know that? if you dont lick the asses of some of the bands here that everyone goes ape**** over, you "dont know what you're talking about", or "you have no taste in music...blah blah ****ing blah".

I'm not a fan of alot of current music, I try to stay open minded as much as i can, despite what you might read. To me, it all sounds the same, bands trying to sound like so and so, and do what so and so did.

Sometimes, I get a laugh out of this place. I once said I thought Nirvana was overrated, and then received a barrage of "You don't know what you're talking abouts" from a ton of folks. I'm sorry, I think the the band is overrated. Deal with it.

Also, Urban made a post about how everything on the radio is pretty much crapola, when he says it in a post, it's funny, and folks go on and on about how much they agreed w/him. Yet, when i said how much I hated current radio, and thought that 95% of the stuff being played on it, is garbage...I get a barrage of "You dont know what the **** you're talking abouts" from people. Hypocritical to say the least.

While I like Urban, and find his lists to be hysterical, and usually dead on, I just found it to be funny how so many came to his side(or someone else's) who made the exact same statements I made? then when I said them?

Oh please, you got a barrage of **** because you completely misinterpretted his post, then passed it off as a hopeless attempt at sarcasm, you did not make the "exact same statement".

And you don't keep an open mind, for you to say that all current music sounds the same is complete twattery considering the incredible diversity in modern music.

No ones giving you **** for what music you like, it's your close minded attitude and ability to dismiss whole periods of music and genre's without a moments thought.

****s like DJ Phoenix who disregard whole genres and eras of music after hearing a few songs from them should have been #1.

Why is it everytime I turn my back someone will come in this thread and use my words as an excuse to bitch about a bunch of non entities none of us really care about.

And In Rainbows is medicore , but you can save that for the In Rainbows threads I mentioned the same thing in there months ago and nobody said a word so don't come into this thread trying to pick me up on it.

Your chance has passed.

I really thought #1 would be In Rainbows after going through the 7 pages it took to get there.

The saddest thing in the world is listening to a piece of music and then afterwards having no real opinion of it.

Artists that are neither good nor bad , they're just sort of there really.

With a good album I can praise it to high heaven , with a bad album I can slag it off to my hearts content. Mediocre albums just make me think i've wasted 45 minutes or so of my life.

Mediocrity irritates me possibly more than everything else on this list combined and will always be my biggest irritation in music for as long as I am a fan of it as much as I am.

THE END
You could have just had Oasis at number 1 and it would have made no difference.

And I'm glad you finally rapped this up, sorry I missed most of it. =(

Well Urban, I came to expect your mentioning of RATM, Pearl Jam and Rush.

But instead of blabbing about that, I'll talk about what a I do agree with. F*cking A about Morrissey fans, and that top 5 is perfect.

There is a tried and tested method of discovering if a Smashing Pumpkins album you own is worth listening to. You simply look to see if Billy Corgan has hair when he recorded it or not. If he does it's a good album if he didn't it's a shit album.
I can't explain this phenomenon but it works.
How right you are.

But you know Urban, I know you hate Mellon Collie and Corgan didn't shave his head until after that album was recorded.
