Your problem is you discount anything not indie, because indie music is mostly generated through corporate machines so it sounds the same as every other indie band. The Smiths and Blur are the only ever decent indie bands.
Spoken like a guy that doesn't know indie. Name one band today that is good and is not considered indie.

Pretty sure those last ones were because of korn, not grunge. But don't mistake me for a fan - the closest I can get to enjoying grunge is my appreciation for Shannon Hoon.

korn came out of the rejection of any kind of technique or musical validity which was promoted by grunge in a reaction to the over-produced and studio orientated music coming out of the late eighties

it seems to happen a lot the whole technique progressing to a point then being rejected
its gotta happen so we dont end up with bands like yes running all over the place
but grunge just did it bad

Punk anyone?

Why does Nirvana get the blame for every mainstream rock band in the past 15 years that lacks technical ability? As if they never existed before Nirvana.

I haven't heard The Fall either. Maybe Urban can list a tenner.

Yes it is. I wonder if it was from personal experience.

There's two 13 track Fall starter kits in my Fall thread that are still working.

I've heard of The Fall but the only thing I heard from them was the Bingo Master EP.

I definitely wouldn't put it past Davis' songwriting abilities.
