SONGS
- Time (DSotM)
- Pigs (Animals)
- Echoes (Meddle)
- Welcome to the Machine (Wish You Were Here)
- Dogs (Animals)

ALBUM
Animals

SIMILAR
Solo/Syd
Genesis? - No one can really be compared

Pink Floyd is that band that really got me into music. I used to only know what came on MTV or the mainstream radio as music. Then my dad stepped in. Pink Floyd opened the doors for me, and without them, i might as well be deaf.

Tracks:

1) Paintbox from Relics
A brilliant track by Richard Wright only just pips Remember A Day fro best Wright composition.

2) Dogs from Animals
My favourite track of all time. Nuff said.

3) Childhood's End from Obscured By Clouds
I love the slow intro and the ease in which Gilmour rocks out.

4) Lucifer Sam from Piper..
Love that classic 60's riff that could have been mde for a Michael Caine spy film, augumented by some great sound f/x and bass work.

5) Set The Controls from A Saucerful Of Secrets
If I would ever do acid then this would be the aural equivalent.

Album:
Animals.

Why?
Take away every single record of mine and leave me with the Floyd catalogue and I would still be happy.

Similar:

Eloy.
Riverside.
Porcupine Tree.

Bike - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Echoes - Meddle
Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Wish You Were Here
Us And Them - The Dark Side Of The Moon

Top Album:
The Dark Side Of The Moon

I love Pink Floyd...60's and 70's Floyd, it doesn't matter.

One of the best rock bands ever. Their catalogue is solid.

I'm a big fan of Syd Barrett and David Gilmour.

Five songs:
See Emily Play - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (bonus track)
Arnold Layne - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (bonus track)
Wish You Were Here - Wish You Were Here
Another Brick In The Wall - The Wall
Hey You - The Wall

Best album:

The Piper at the Gates of Dawn

Similar artists:
Can't think of anybody... (that's not a band, BTW)

I'm not a huge Pink Floyd fan, but I appreciate Syd Barrett's genius. His stuff far surpassed Roger Water's (even though that had its merits too). A lot of their 70s albums bore me, but I haven't taken the time out to really try to appreciate them.
