Meh, their fanbase (of which I am a member) is divided on whether they've abandoned what made them good in the first place or not. The Red Album was pretty shoddy if you ask me, 2 or 3 good Weezer songs on the whole thing. I still think they can make a comeback to their old awesomeness, though (in before massive wave of bashing).

Hmm, Don't Believe the Truth was a fantastic album in my opinion, but otherwise I agree with you.

Otherwise Metallica, Sabbath and the Stones come to mind

Even though I love Endless Wire and have a soft spot for Face Dances, the Who really should have split up after 5:15 & Love Reign O'er Me.

As far as the Stones go, there are some good tracks on Voodoo Lounge and A Bigger Bang. Still, a case could be made that they should have split up after Mick Taylor left, or even when Brian Jones died. Are the Stones of today just a greedy outfit in it for the bucks? Sure...but were they ever any different?

AC DC (some okay songs but they're just boring)
Metallica (early stuff was amazing, I liked up to the Black album and terrible after that)
