I agree, this is too difficult for me to decide because I was only born in 1988, and although I'm aware of music that came before then, it's hard to judge and compare when I didn't experience it fully.

HIM: The most ironic artist name ever.

Also, 1 song doesn't make a year.

I will tentatively say 2007 is my favourite year, though I guess this could always change. In its favour however are:

The National - Boxer
Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago

Three of which are right out of my top 5 albums ever, and the other two following quite closely somewhere from the top 10 or 15.

I would say 2003, 2005, or 2007. 2007 has quite a few albums I like, but 2005 and 2003 also have some of my all time favorites.

My gut says 66 or 69. As for favorite year while I was still alive...I don't think I have an answer.

Definitely '91. Purely because of Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Ten, and Nevermind. It's what I grew up on, even if it was 7 years before I was born.
