More funny than anything, but Cannibal Corpse would be experiencing some trouble if people could actually understand their lyrics.

Arghoslent seem to make every metalhead **** their pants due to their racist lyrics. I find it humorous that the majority of extreme metal bands make lyrics solely to shock people with anything related to death and dying and no one cares (like most of you here), but when a band is racist everyone goes nuts. The thing is, their lyrics are actually somewhat intelligent (the lyrics are more related to a historic outlook on slavery rather than "I HATE BLACKS RAWRR").

Please don't think that I think this particular song is "intelligent." I used this because of its obvious racist lyrics. Most of their other songs are not as overtly racist and are more intelligent.

Probably because the death and gore stuff doesn't come off as a serious endorsement of hacking up babies or whatever while the racist shit does come off as a serious endorsement of racism.

That is a very true statement. It's just that our culture has become so desensitized to everything that something like this:

"Fresh corpses to be skinned and cooked
Human bodies are chopped and grilled
More flesh to feed the cannibal"

is unoffensive but this is:

"Nature bestowed her foulest pigmentation upon them much like a scar"

The second quote is obviously much more subtle in its delivery and the first one is very very blatant with its message, but the subtle one is the most offensive. All in all, you are right though, most death metal artists do not act on what they say(the video of George Fischer above is a perfect example), while bands like Arghoslent do actually believe what they say.

Something tells me I'm glad I've never heard them.

I don't really get offended by things, unless you count considering that kind of thing just dumb as hell and leaving it at that.
