William Shatner Sings an Unintentionally Hilarious Version of "Rocket Man"

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the majesty of his lameness.

johne 02-17-2009 09:13 PM

Actually, sweet nothing's avitar looks like Jan Terry

Laugh--it's better for you--laugh until you cry...

scottsy 02-17-2009 09:33 PM

Ahhhh, that classic Shatner cover has me laughing my ass off every single time!

Guybrush 02-18-2009 02:27 AM

The Shatner thing isn't a music video, but it was pretty gods damn awful all the same. Mind boggingly stupid and embarassing .. Grats on the find!

scottsy 02-18-2009 10:21 PM

Has anyone heard Shatner's cover of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds as well? T'is always irresistably funny, and I am sure by now Shatner himself would recognise how damn funny and ridiculous it all sounds...

Used to love this video when I was four...it's terrible.

That may be the greatest video ever.
Almost as great as this. . .

Lionel Richie - Hello

Lionel Richie's promo video for hello topped worst video in a poll.

Damn, can't post url's at the moment...

scottsy 02-20-2009 10:43 PM

I can totally get why that video would win that poll... its unbelieveably cheesy, overtly sentimental and just plain obnxious... and wussy...

Oh man. I'm sorry fella's but that was awesome. I am actually going to go as far as to say that is the single greatest video I have ever seen.

I was a little obsessed with Jan Terri a long time ago and am just now revisiting her on youtube. Her **** still holds up to this day. As proof, here's exhibit A:

She seems to be going strong still, performing and making stuff. A documentary about her seems to be in the works.

edit:

Hah, the video I posted was of course in the very first post when I created this thread aeons ago. Changed it :)

Jerkwad? Where are they from? Yech, sounds like a bad Eurovision contender. I couldn't take much of it

That is awful, but I did feel like they live up to their name.

Guybrush 05-20-2021 05:22 AM

By the way, now that Eurovision is upon us, I am reminded of this gem which didn't fully make it to the finals in.. 2010 was it?

Edit: Ah, 2012 like it says in the title.

You won't be surprised there is a thread dedicated to them from 10 years ago created by yours truly, who was going through a phase. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...wer/dreamy.gif I heard it again recently and it is still catchy. Especially compared to the rest of Eurovision trash. At least the chorus.

Haha, well sorry adidass.. I wanna like more contemporaryish music, but this is hard

Note that I just can't get into Eurovision despite my wife's attempts.

Worst band ever butchers Pink Floyd

Quote:

This is a horrible cover of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. It was performed by a band at a local music store during a breast cancer awareness show. I'm sorry to the guys, whoever they are, but this is awful. And these guys aren't 12 year old music students... they're grown men who ought to know better.

Guybrush 05-20-2021 07:39 AM

^Maybe they could get a gig at the glue sniffers convention.

Pat Boone - Smoke on the Water

Guybrush 09-21-2022 04:38 PM

Pat Boone's jazz covers got a lot of attention some 20 years ago when The Osbourne's started to air, of course using his cover of crazy train as its theme song.

Today, I find them kind of nostalgic and endearing.

Her Parents should have been the ones constantly ragged and dragged, not her. :(
