People in the US don't realize how Ubiquitous Kylie is everywhere else in the world. She's had a few minor hits in the US but when I started traveling, she seemed to be on every radio I heard. I personally think her music is a lot better and a lot less preachy than Madonnas. She is also a lot better looking to my eyes. I'll always remember that commercial she did where she rides a mechanical bull in a camisole. Whoof.

..... and she's worked with Nick Cave.... several times.
F*ck you Madonna. |
It's not a requirement to hate Madonna if you want to like Kylie Minogue. They both make great dance music.
Kylie's trilogy for me is Fever, Body Language and X. |

Maybe it's like the Captain Beefheart vs. Zappa thing or the Lou Reed vs. John Cale thing. People seem to like one more than the other. Then again, maybe not.
Seriously, I have nothing against Madonna per se. I just find her a little preachy. Kylie just wants you to take her on the dance floor and get all sweaty, then take her home and prong the sh*t out of her. I can relate to that. Like a drug. |

With the recent talk of Kylie, I might as well mention this...
Being in the US in 1994, it was pretty tough to find her discs despite being a star around the world. Oddly enough, I actually bought...and yes still own...her early Greaterst Hits disc which covers her PWL era. Yeah, the label that clogged up the British UK Indie Charts. I remember hearing "Better the Devil You Know" and reading the "Sex Kylie" mentions in The NME, so you know where this is going. Once she recorded with Nick, I was all too happy. Plus, I once had the "Confide in Me" single. Bought at Camelot Music (I think) in one of their occasional Import sale-aways (almost like a Give Away, ultra cheap prices). OK, maybe not that guilty, but yeah, I liked her music. Good well constructed Pop, and the fact that she moved away from the SAW Factory with class makes it even more better. |
Related to my love of Exploitation films, the Disco Version of the theme to Caligula (The film starring Macolm McDowell, Teresa Ann Savoy, and Peter O' Toole Produced by Pentouse) certainly ranks up there with my Guilty Pleasures. Tasty Musicianship, though! |

In 2007, her covers album I Think We're Alone Now: 80's Hits and More was mainly produced by Butler, and actually has her version of (get ready for this) "Panic." Yes, the Mall Music Queen sings The Smiths. Yikes! Later on, Butler also produced about 4/11'ths of Just Me. I'm sure there's many many more, but that's a small example I remember. |
Tiffany put out a record on Cleopatra?!
i mean i always thought that that label was very hit or miss....but wow |

To be fair, they have been doing the re-issue game for a while with some good stuff, but they seriously lost me when they were getting into the Tribute thing.
|
i know man.....it seemed for a while there everything coming from them was a tribute album that ALWAYS had at least one Electric Hellfire Club song :)
remember the "Industrial" tribute album to 70s sitcoms themes? |

Friggin' love Tiffany. :)

I've listened to some Jonas Brothers.
Some have pretty good tunes, so does some other pop music, but I'd never ever consider any of these songs a part of me nor would they ever become even close to favorite |

Now, I can see Alien Sex Fiend going good with Batman, as at least their sence of humor was always great, but 2 CDs worth of others going through TV Theme songs (This time released on Re-Construction) sounds over-kill in my opinion. Sounded like that the label was going through tough times. Closed in 2001. |

Total edit...finally found the page for the 2-Disc Set.
To detail, I found the 1-disc page, mis-spelt the title of the 2-disc set, then discovered the mistake and found it. http://www.discogs.com/Various-A-Sau...d/master/57084 The edited version of the comp, released in '99 was Another Side of Pink, which still included the EHC contribution, their cover of Lucifer Sam. |
interesting that on the single disc Chrome is credited for Pigs On The Wing and on the two disc version Helios Creed is
