exactly. so why is it shocking that another newer pop act has elements that sound like another pop act from the past?

i made the comment so the OP might clue into the fact that nirvana is not some infallible group.

it's not like nirvana didn't poke fun at the coincidence. i used to have an mp3 of them doing a sloppy version of the chorus to 'more than a feeling' with cobain stifling laughter between the lines before kicking into SLTS.

OK check this out. Nirvanas song 'come as you are' sounds like a combination of killing jokes "riff" from 'eighties' and pixies tempo or rythm in their song 'here comes your man'. What do you think?
