Definitely one of my favourite artists yes. I'd suggest Little Earthquakes or Under the Pink. It's a little harder to get into her other stuff, like Boys for Pele (which I absolutely love.)

Yep you're on my last.fm :) Haha I don't really listen to Moby much at all - my iTunes often gets hijacked by my housemates because my laptop is connected up to our main stereo system.

Neil Finn & Eddie Vedder (with Johnny Marr and some guy from Radiohead), playing a Split Endz song live together, from the live Neil Finn collabaration album '7 Worlds Collide'.

Also if you check the videos page, I rofl'd earlier when I was reading through the comments and read mines wondering who the fuck wrote that, only to scroll up and find out it was me lol. YouTube - Take a Walk - Neil Finn + Eddie Vedder

Astronomer 06-27-2009 12:07 PM

^ That's awesome, I love Neil Finn! Never knew they did that together.

Mirrorball95 06-27-2009 01:03 PM

Yeah even better the album only cost me 60p. Aye hes better than what most people think.
I just posted more about him on the 'what album your listening to thread' http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...tml#post692011.

If you're going to judge Outkast on one shitty commercial single you may as well judge David Bowie purely on The Laughing Gnome

Mirrorball95 06-27-2009 01:26 PM

Stop criticising me lol. I appreciate you recognise its shitty though. I wil check the track out, Im in the middle of an epic jazz album right now.
EDIT: I listened to the track and its pretty good, I found this version and much prefer it though:

Astronomer 06-27-2009 08:39 PM

Love the lyrics to this song.

Mirrorball95 06-28-2009 11:13 AM

Songs actually called 'Never Gonna Tell You What To Do' but never mind:
From my favourite Indie/Britpop band of the 90s.

Bulldog 06-28-2009 11:13 AM

LoathsomePete 06-28-2009 11:53 AM

Charles Mingus-Better Get Hit In Yo' Soul

Mirrorball95 06-29-2009 06:46 PM

Now I cant stand AC/DC post Bon Scott, but their early stuff is cracking. And the fact that he was Scottish.

Antonio, how did you know that the Stafford High Jazz Ensemble was so renowned for their version of that song?

LoathsomePete 06-30-2009 01:16 PM

My favourite Darkest of the Hillside Thickets song.

Mirrorball95 06-30-2009 03:32 PM

Came across this guy just now on my WMP, had no idea who the fuck he was or where the album came from (I get it a lot). A really good blues guitarist. I read up on wiki quickly and he was in a band called Danger Danger before.

Antonio 06-30-2009 04:11 PM

OOOOoooOHHHH YEAAAAAAH

jackhammer 06-30-2009 04:17 PM

As usual another lesser known English artist forgotten amongst the usual cult 'must-listen to' artist that permeates every fashionable pore these days.

Ricochet~kun 06-30-2009 04:18 PM

god of music? we think so~

Bulldog 06-30-2009 04:33 PM

Thats The Pogues! Theyre crackin man, what album's that song off? Ive got quite a few albums, 'Rum Sodomy & The Lash', 'Hell's Ditch', 'Waiting For Herb' & 'Pogue Mahone'. The latter two of which I bought under the impression that Joe Strummer had been the lead singer on them but it turned out that he had only produced the 'Hell's Ditch' album, which is fantastic by the way. Turned out it was Spider Stacy who did the lead vocals after Shane McGowan left. Youve got me listening to them again now lol.

Really? I have no recollection of either being told about it/downloading whatsoever lol. I was very impressed with the 'Pawn Kings' album, especially the tracks 'Loosen Up' & 'Blood Is Thicker Than Water'. Also does a very good cover version of 'Green Onions', the original of which my step dad likes to dance to (badly) lol.
