Fad Gadget - Life on the Line

The version I'm playing is slightly different, I think there were a few different ones. But anyway I love the song.

Molecules 10-15-2009 12:45 PM

^fine choice sir. I am partial to 'fireside favourite'. I think this song is a send up of Einsturzende Neubauten whose back catalogue i am reviewing, great stuff

sidewinder 10-15-2009 12:53 PM

Yeah that's a great song too, just finished up Under the Flag and put on Gag. I also prefer Fireside Favourite over the other albums.

I've never been able to get into Einsturzende Neubauten, really. Never tried much though, I just always felt like it was too much noise and not enough melody for me.

Act I, Scene I- The Fall of Troy
The office I'm at has YouTube blocked, so I can't post a video up, but I'm sure most people know who The Fall of Troy are.

I'm pretty disappointed by their new album, though. Too bland.

NumberNineDream 10-17-2009 02:31 PM

The best part of that song is the story behind it

Bulldog 10-18-2009 04:59 AM

^ Love this song, love this album :yeah: That said, the actual album's probably the weaker of his later efforts - kinda tails off in the second half by my reckoning.

I've been jamming out to Kings of Leon all day today.

missgeek2009 10-18-2009 11:56 PM

blast from my past...

I used to love Avenged Sevenfold as a teen, and lately I'm really feeling them again. Been listening to pretty much every song on a list for Avenged Sevenfold on song-list.net. Bat Country still pumps me up as much as it used to... I mean, seriously I had it set to play on my stereo as a wake up call when I was sixteen! That song-list.net site keeps tripping up my mind making me remember songs that I used to listen to non-stop.

A7X had some pretty rad stuff before they blew it with the latest album. Second Heartbeat is one of my favorites. So much energy in the drums and a pretty sick guitar solo towards the end of the song.

I think the new one is as good as City of Evil. It's nothing I would listen to regularly but I enjoyed the albums equally.

Some great Dark Americana courtesy of one of our mods. I usually don't listen to albums twice in the same day but this is an exception.

This song isn't even in the Rolling Stone magazine's top 500...I was surprised. It's definitely in my top 20. Pearl Jam does a really good job with the cover.

EP version though. But this video's kinda cool. Oh how I would have loved to see them back then.

Bulldog 10-24-2009 05:42 AM

Haven't listened to Swans in ages. I remember getting this album but only managing to get through the first few tracks, not because I didn't like the album, just that I probably had something else to do at the time. Fantastic stuff, judging by the second listen - one of the ultime doubleyou-tee-eff albums.

It makes me cry a lil bit inside. Not a particularly great video, I love it though. Lots of Guns N' Roses memories.

For some reason this song makes me feel emotional -.-

One of my favourite Emmylou Harris songs from quite possibly my favourite of her albums. Sheer class!
