An even number to fit in the Masque held in the House made of Straw;
where a lonely ghost has dressed himself as a restless poltergeist,
just for a hint from the cosmos, the right time to put to what little spark he has left to the flint.

The wrong number,
from the littlest torch in Salem.

Need to devote more time to the Knife's new album. When I'm in a better mood I suppose. But I do like what I've been able to absorb so far.

Pretty disappointed by this: a collaboration of members of ISIS (one of my favorite bands) and the singer of Deftones (a band I don't like). I think the vocals ruin it for me, but the rest is also pretty dull :(

I've been listening to Britney Spears since yesterday and I've come to the conclusion that I love her. I'm up to her third album and she (the people who write her songs) keeps getting better.

You fool. Listening to Trivium and listening to Britney Spears are two entirely different things. Trivium are a band who leads good metalheads astray into poseurdom. Britney Spears is so far removed from metal that she is immune to any laws concerning what one may and may not listen to. One worries about catching AIDS from a crack whore, but not so much from a dog.

Bitch.

I love that they used Weekend at Bernie's 2 for this video. They are actually a local group

First listen to this...

Then the beat and the chord progression on the verses on this...

I love the best of Devo's music, but here is where I fully connect my thoughts as to why Shout is a seriously flawed and ill-fated album. Nice cover, yes, but one that sounds like it had a little added flavor influenced from somewhere else. Happy accident or no...I still wonder. Knowing some of the situation surrounding the creation of the album as well as some of the guitar riff steals (one from Davie Allen's "Blue's Theme" usually missed by critics in between "Day Tripper" lines on "The 4'th Dimension"), you can tell that the dependence on the Fairlight and other then-modern tech among other things had stopped the stand-out creativity they're usually known for in my opinion.

Nothing new, of course, happens all the time (and a hell of a lot in my collection), but when you finally connect the dots on something that had your mind thinking "Now where did they got that familiar-sounding extra flavor from?" when many other reviews miss out...

Still, with Devo's cover of the Hendrix classic being from 1984, maybe they accidentally predicted the mash-up, possibly the ultimate De-Vo of Pop Music in my opinion.

Researching for an article on Shout for my 80's Cut Out memory blog.

Been listening to this since I was a young girl.

I enjoy this song a little bit too much. I could definitely hearing it playing on some adult contemporary radio station.

Vanilla's posting the metal and I'm posting the embarrassing but addictive pop? Dark days.

I tried listening to Christina Aguilera for some variety, but apart from a few songs, her debut was crap. Back to Britney. God this album is ear sex.
