Well goddamn. I was listening to this album and this song really jumped out at me. It's heavy, it's hypnotic, and it's kinds of sexy. I don't know what else to say, but I like it.

Spending my morning revisiting favorite quirky leftfield tracks spun in DJ sessions by Fred Deakin of Lemon Jelly during his Balearic sets on BBC Radio 1's The Breezeblock. I'll share a few beloved eccentricities below.

Marsha Gee - “Peanut Duck" is a goofy dance single recorded in Philadelphia in 1965 by an unknown vocalist, credited falsely to Marsha Gee and pressed by Penniman label in Spain in 2005. I secured the last copy from the label.

Another oddity is this electro-reggae DJ single by Black Lodge from 2002 which samples the psychedelic elephants-on-parade scene from Dumbo. It was limited to a run of 500 copies worldwide.
