so crash sent me:
Paulson - Variations

First of all, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this album. It brought me back to the days when I was interested in this type of music, although Variations emulates most of those bands with ease. They have a very freewheeling style for an 'emo' band, one that reflects quite a bit on bands I enjoy listening to now, like Cursive, Thursday, Minus The Bear..ect. Favorite tracks are Most Unfortunate, and Convertible (Reprise). Deffo a keeper, one that will be revisited soon.

7.5/10

+81 sent me:

Andrew Jackson Jihad - people who can eat people are the luckiest people in the world

it was 'interesting', but definately not something i would really keep on my (8gb) ipod. but it wasn't really horrible. he almost seems generic (to himself). the lead singer has a weird comedic voice. it is kinda fun to listen to once, but anymore and it's not all that great.
i give this album a 4.53/10

Andrew Jackson Jihad is the name of the band. I'll throw together a review of that Fruit Bats album after another listen or so.

Andrew Jackson Jihad are sooo win. I'd give that album a 7.5 and their debut a 9.

Schizotypic gave me

The Book of Knots - Traineater

I had a hard time with this album. I listened to this thing many times thinking I was missing out on something. Turns out, this isnt my kinda stuff. It has its moments(Traineater, Pray), however I just get so damn bored for the majority of the time. This isnt lush stuff we have here, its abrasive as hell(making it harder to sink my teeth into). And the lyrics don't really do anything for me at all. The music in general is just a bit too bland for me and it doesn't have the peaks and valleys that I desire.

Sorry I'm terrible at reviews
3/10
