It's not like all post rock celebrates minimalism and 'nothingness'. Bell Orchestre for example, As Seen Through Windows has some of the most captivating music I've heard in awhile.

No you are not on your own. I think Arcade Fire is boring as hell. I do have maybe 2 tracks that I like and that's it.

The Shaggs and The first Saccharine Trust album people seem to hate, I can understand why people would hate the Shaggs but the first Saccharine Trust album "Paganicons" gets some pretty harsh criticism when it is my favorite Saccharine Trust album :P, i'll admit some of the lyrics are pretty brutal but it's far more interesting than their free jazz stuff that came later imo. + Human Certainty and Effort To Waste have the best intros ever

Looks like you're not alone, but I guess that goes to show you how much individual tastes can diverge. I was blown away the first time I heard Funeral. I listen to it almost daily. 4 of the songs are on my 25 most played.

As for "Revolver"...I quite like "I'm Only Sleeping" and "She Said She Said", but the rest...well, "I'm Only Sleeping" just about sums it up, aside from the last track, which...for all its originality, is a fairly grating song to listen to. I'm not sure why - it's like when your parents ask about your distaste for a particular food. You can't really give an answer as to why you don't like it, it just tastes bad. I used to like "Tomorrow Never Knows", but I gave it a listen recently and the sound of it just...irritated me for some reason.
I'm not as huge a fan of Revolver, so I get where you're coming from. I like the drums in Tomorrow Never Knows, but otherwise it's not that interesting.

They're pretty average and dull, but killing babies? I think you're overcome by the hype surrounding them.

I think Arcade Fire are hideously overrated, that being said Funeral is still a pretty good album.

The National however are nothing more than a rancid green sh*tstain on the modern indie scene.
