I can see why some people aren't really into Arcade Fire, but I personally love them.

I can't understand the whole Avenged Sevenfold thing, loads of my friends like them, I just don't get it.

The National however are nothing more than a rancid green sh*tstain on the modern indie scene.
Weed is more essential to enjoy The National than Darkside of the Moon. Get some dank buds and spin Boxer, I'll wait.

I don't understand the appeal of metalcore at all. I've never met a metalcore fan who actually listened to a respectable variety of music.

OK Metalcore is not your bag but that is a poor generalisation. It may be nearer the truth but not wholly the truth. I get an image of many members on here only listening to a set number of bands and rarely daring to step outside their comfort zone and their first love is not metal for sure (not you BTW) but usually white boy guitar rock.

It wasn't a generalization. I'm saying that I've literally never met someone who was a fan of metalcore that actually listened to a decent variety of music.

There is some (albeit a small amount) of metalcore that I enjoy, and I listen to a good variety of music. At least I think it's metalcore, maybe not by 2009 standards...but early to mid-decade standards.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I think my brother is a serious exception to this, he loves his metalcore.

But he also loves his Johnny Cash and Wu Tang Clan, so I can't complain.

That's about as broad a spectrum of music tastes as you can get, really.

I only liked metalcore for a short period in 2003 when i first heard Poison The Well and Killswitch Engage, but it got REALLY boring really quickly.
