I've heard Nonpoint before, they're decent, though I was thinking Groove Metal more along the lines of Lamb of God

i would love some help getting into reggae. i know i don't like Marley. in fact, i don't like much of the more popular reggae stuff i've heard.

but i love this:

i'm also a huge fan of Thievery Corporation, which in my mind verges on reggae quite often. also, there are quite a few tracks from Massive Attack and Tricky that lean heavily towards reggae, which i like a lot.

any ideas?

Im no expert on Reggae and id say my tastes lean to the stuff that you say you dont like. However if you you wanna explore I cant recommend the Congos- Heart of the Congo's enough.

Id suggest trying Easy all Stars though, they have made dub covers of both Dark side of the Moon and Ok Computer. Both are reallly quite special.

Might be a nice way to start exploring the genre.

Some of the mixes on this website are also very good and might be up your street. http://dubsession.com/playlists/downloadshows.htm
