Pearl Jam.

Easily.

I don't give a damn about how anyone else here feels about them. I've been a fan for almost fifteen years, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

STP, however, I've never liked, so, you know, take that however you want.

I don't know. That was definitely the big gripe against them when that album came out.

Ha I called Core Post earlier.

Someway, somehow, I managed to get Bjork and STP confused.

I voted STP. Lots of people that still accuse STP of sounding like Pearl Jam only heard a couple of songs from their first album and then wrote them off. They developed a pretty original, diverse sound later on and have a couple of really great songs. They have some HORRIBLE songs, don't get me wrong, but I think a lot of people didn't give them a chance.

Then again, I never got into Pearl Jam at all besides they're early stuff, so if Pearl Jam's later albums sound like STP's last three, then please inform me so i don't sound like a fool .

Also keep in mind i used to be a huge fan and i have a certain nostalglia for them, that somewhat overshadows any bad songs that they've put out, as well as Weiland's horrible personality.

That's really the only song I like by them as well. On a related note, I liked that Weiland solo song "Lady, Your Roof Brings Me Down" also.

After 'core' STP doesn't really sound anything like Pearl Jam. Look at 'Lady Picture Show' for example (Their best song).

STP/Core vs. PJ/Ten

Although I hate both, Ten eeks out because I dont hate EVERY SONG, as opposed to STP's first album.

STP/Purple vs. PJ/Vs.

I'm gonna go with STP since Purple is more solid. Vs., other than the hits is a lame album.

STP/Tiny Music vs. PJ/Vitalogy

This is tough cos they're both the only albums I like from these bands. I'm sticking with Pearl Jam since the song 'Corduroy' is an overlooked 90's gem (overlooked by, like, hipsters, not mainstream radio, of course)

Pearl Jam definitely has more solid albums, but STP was a very good singles band. And the comparison between the two bands really ends after Core. I honestly could never mistake anything STP did after that for Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam, by far. But, they should have stopped after 2 albums. Ten and vs. are both excellent. Elderly Woman behind The Counter In A Small Town is maybe my favorite PJ song.

Why couldn't it have been Velvet Revolver vs. Pearl Jam? Then this MIGHT have actually been interesting.
