Mindless Self Indulgence were always a band were hit and miss. Not something I listened to extensively and most of their songs didn't seem to stick until I saw them live.

Bob Dylan, i really didnt know that you could fall asleep at a concert, but Dylan made it possible.

Hm...A hard question. I guess All Shall Perish when they were in Russia. The concert was so energetic and full of joy, that I decided to visit MUCH MORE live perfromances.

Ministry. I've stopped listening to them because I saw them live. Terrible, terrible show. Why was I listening to them in the first place?

I got dragged kicking and screaming to a Bon Jovi (20 yrs. ago. I was 17) show and was ultra-pissed because metallica was playing the same night (again, 20 yrs. ago when they were still good). I resigned myself to the fact that hitting on groupie sluts was going to be the highlight of my experience. I swear I've never seen a band put as much blood, sweat, and tears into a performance ever. It was fantastic.

When I was 13 I attended the Sno-Core 2000 Tour (Puya, Mr. Bungle, Incubus and System of a Down).

When I saw Mr. Bungle, I had no idea what I was witnessing. I allowed myself to be swayed by the mass mentality that they sucked because Mike Patton (the lead singer) was talking the most profane, ****ed-up shit to the audience. I didn't realize at the time that it was just part of their show.

I didn't hear their music until I was 18. They're now one of my all-time favorite bands.

This is kind of the opposite of the thread, more like the music that changed my mind about the performance (although I look back on that memory with gleaming admiration).

I was pretty indifferent to Muse, but my girlfriend thought they were amazing. So we saw them and it was pretty fantastic. What I liked about them was they didn't say a word to the audience. They walked on stage after the horrible warm up band (The Cloud Room) and just melted faces.
