Very much so i'd imagine, his point being that you probably didnt actually give the Portishead song a listen and just went with Hendrix because he's Hendrix

<---- I may be a pretty biased party here but...

The Hendrix song really is better. Both are not so great songs from great acts, after viewing that Youtube video I checked out some more Portishead stuff.

I've liked what I've heard from Portishead, but I'm still inclined to go by Hendrix on this one.. that Portishead song just gives me a bit of a headache... well, both of the songs kinda do.

Hendrix FTW.

I just watched both videos in their entirety, and voted for Portishead. I like Hendrix...I have and enjoy the three Jimi Hendrix Experience albums, but this song really doesn't do much for me. It's long and doesn't really offer anything for me to latch on to, though it's not bad by any means. I have never listened to a full Portishead album. I've been interested in checking out their latest for a while but still haven't done so. Back in the day with Dummy, I probably heard a song or two but they never made me want to listen to the album. An ex roommate had a live DVD and it sounded well done but, meh. Their sound is ok, I'm just not a fan of the sloooooooow vocals for the most part, I guess. And the music always seemed secondary. From what I've heard of 3 (this and one or two other songs), it should appeal to me more. It seems like the music is just as important as the vocals, and sounds a bit more experimental than their older stuff (again, based on my limited exposure). I should check out the full album soon.
