There was a time when both rock and metal were both fun to listen and party to, and then Nirvana came along. =(

If you are referring to crap like Poison, Bon Jovi and Motley Crue, which has absolutely no artistic merit whatsoever.

Go watch The Wrestler, punk.

They may have "no artistic merit" in your opinion, but at least their music was fun, and is ALOT more listenable then today's garbage that's been floating around in the mainstream, and before you use the cliche "well ur jus trapped in the 80s!!!!!" I'll just let you know, that I try to get into music from every decade, and there is infact alot of music I like that's new, admittly, alot of it isn't rock/metal, but still.

I lol'd at this. I actually thought it was a pretty good movie, yet again, I also happen to be a wreslting fan, but that's completely off topic, so I'll leave it at that.

Same here. They were coming out of the walls when I was at school, especially when they published Cobain's diaries and released that gigantic box set of rarities.

Regarding the music, I think Nirvana did a few great songs (I'll always have a soft spot for Heart-Shaped Box and Sliver), but I've never really been swayed into getting an album of theirs, and I doubt I ever will be.

I think the Journals book was a bit ridiculous. Everyone knows he was f***ed up, do we really need it in writing?

if we were strictly going on band literature then Anthony Kiedis' autobiography would be enough to put his fans at number one. fucking shithead.

There's more artistic merit in Motley Crue's first album than there is in Green Day's entire discography.

Nikki Sixx did one that was pretty horrible.

By no means a Green Day fan, but I find the hatred of them to be a little ironic.
