ive heard it, but in all honesty, i think the two guys are better off as producers than solo artists. their output waned after they left their respective bands.

I think its fair to say that this was one of the greatest American bands period.

I`d say through the Buildings & Food / Fear Of Music / Remain In Light period they were pretty f*cking untouchable.

Yor kidding mate...this album is essential. Not just to own and listen to, but it's influence on other artists can't be over exaggerated.
True their output wasn't mainstream, but brilliant all the same.

Thanks to Reinard I have discovered the brilliance of Remain in light. Great shizz. I don't know why I haven't done this before, I've liked everything David Byrne has done. And I agree with David, the live version of Psycho killer is ten times better than the album version. The great curve is psychojungleepicly brilliant.<3

I haven't properly listened to the first two albums, but it does seem they don't quite live up to RiL. Does it get even better after that one?

I had been wondering the same thing. I've also only really heard RiL myself. People have been telling me to listen to Little Creatures and Stop Making Sense (mid-80s), which are supposedly really great. Guess I'll find out.

I've heard Stop making sense, that's where the live version of Psycho killer comes from. It's pretty great...I'm not sure, is it the soundtrack to the documentary or a different live album? I'm downloading the docu...it's supposed to be one of the best music documentaries ever...

it's not really a documentary it's just a live show. it is pretty good, though i skip over some of the songs because they just have too much 80's cheese (synth solo's, anyone?)
