i'm not really a fan of the volta. two of my friends are like diehard fans, but i never got the hype at all. well into atd-i though.

the only complaint i have about the mars volta is that the singer sounds a little bit like those singers from those whiny emo bands.

Same here. I love At The Drive-In but i've never been able to get into the Mars Volta, they just don't do it for me.

i think there's too much going on, my ears just don't have the capacity to take it all in i reckon. seems like they make too much of an effort to give their songs a climax most of the time.

atd-i are bloody marvellous though.
