It's not just about finding obscure music. That's elitist and not what I am about. I just happen to find music that slips under the radar regardless of the era and I am not as thick skinned as others and get annoyed when I feel as if I am accused of living in the past etc.

Rant over

Donno really.I think because I'm not actually doing the music (or even buying it), searching for it and finding it is the only thing that somehow makes it mine.

Or everybody could shut the hell up and agree that music is cool.

If how obscure something is affects your enjoyment of it, you're stupid. Listen to it. Do you like how it sounds? If yes, you like it. If no, you don't. Just because you had to fly to Italy and row a boat to an uncharted island with a cassette to hear it doesn't mean it's good.

do you value the experience of finding it more than hearing it? if you dont, im not sure why you are depriving yourself of all the great stuff from the 90s / 00s.

Who said I like the music just because it's obscure. I said enjoy finding music. If I heard it and hated it there's no reason to keep it anyway. What's the hostility for anyway?

@trace
I'm not depriving myself. I download some once in a while. However as my connection is pretty shitty it takes me 2 hours do download an album; in the mean time, I enjoy digging in for music.

I love music. And I love re-searches. From music to films and books. I'm not getting why people are so hating the searching process.

Edit: Sorry for the off topic talk.

There's nothing wrong with searching for unknown music as everyone, as much as they may deny it, likes to have that special band that no-one's heard to say is their own. Music is a deeply personal thing, being obscure isn't necessary for it to be good but it can certainly help in that regard.

I stopped worrying about that a long time ago. I never really cared, but now since I devour so much new music it just happens that way. I'm fairly certain 75% of what I mention to the friends I hang out with regularly they will not have heard of. Now that I think about it, that has actually gotten pretty old for me. I kind of wish everyone has heard the music I listen to now...I like to talk about it.
