tobacco ❤. not a big fan of chance at the moment, but that track's cool. dig the bolded pc music tracks. i never heard the country teasers song, so i checked that out and i'm liking it. i've never listened to trioscapes, o'death, or benjamin booker :o:

this heat - independence
the zinnias - country
julia brown - 'im falling in love'
broadcast - corporeal
sheena & the rokkets - たいくつな世界
miss ohio's nameless - meal-bound boy
sufjan stevens - romulus

Machine 12-30-2014 01:31 PM

Julia Brown, Sufjan Stevens <3
Sadly I don't know much else.

The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 1
Elliott Smith - Good To Go
The Flaming Lips - Shine On Sweet Jesus
The Flaming Lips - Take Me Ta Mars
cloudcover - Dont Vanish
The Beatles - Lovely Rita
Can - Paperhouse
cloudcover - Independence Day
The Flaming Lips - Talking Bout The Similin' Deathporn Immortality Blues
Shellac - Mouthpiece

To explain all the Flaming Lips stuff, I have 11 albums by them on my phone.

Blarobbarg 12-30-2014 07:42 PM

Despite the fact that The Flaming Lips always sound good to me in theory, I've never found anything by them I was terribly fond of, so this mix isn't really that great for me. Also, you have one of the worst Beatles songs there is in there. Elliot Smith and Shellac are amazing, though.

The xx - Basic Space
Ty Segall - It
Trampled By Turtles - Wild Animals

Lucky Millinder - Little John Special
No Joy - Here Tarot Lies
Nicolas Jaar - Specters of the Future
Joe Tex - Skinny Legs and All
Joni Mitchell - California
The Foreign Exchange - Happiness
Death Grips - I've Seen Footage

Mondo Bungle 12-30-2014 09:16 PM

Good for Ty, TBT, and No Joy, not too much the other stuff.

Kerosene 454 - Nines
The Twilight Sad - Not Sleeping
The Rolling Stones - Dear Doctor
Gasp - Saliva
Celtic Frost - In the Chapel in the Moonlight
Dog Fashion Disco - Nude in the Wilderness
Ryan Harvey - Iraq For Sale!
Meat Puppets - H-Elenore
Buzzcocks - Hollow Inside
Capitalist Casulaties - Bio-Plague

Blarobbarg 12-30-2014 09:29 PM

Wait... you don't like Death Grips, MB? They seem like the kind of band you would love. Not that I think everyone is obligated to love Death Grips, or that they're the best band ever or anything, they just really seem like your style.

Mondo Bungle 12-30-2014 09:35 PM

I've listened to Exmilitary and The Money Store but don't think I found them that memorable. But then again, I literally don't remember anything from them, so I might have to listen again to see what it's all about.

Blarobbarg 12-30-2014 09:38 PM

I don't care for everything they did, but The Money Store is incredible. And some of the songs off of No Love Deep Web are still some of the best "I will either **** or kill everyone around me" jams I've ever heard. I used to destroy my drum kit while listening to that album.

It took a lot of listens to get through Exmilitary now I listen to it on a regular basis and I love it, I'd suggest going back to it.

Frownland 12-30-2014 09:56 PM

I think Government Plates gets an unfair amount of hate, I'd put it above The Money Store tbh.

It's grown on me some. I was severely disappointed with it at first. It's definitely more of an experimental electronic album than their more "normal" noisy hip hop. Not that anything they did was normal.

Niggas On The Moon was my favorute by far, loved loved loved the glitch vibes on it, plus Bjork was on like every track.

I actually find 'Dear Doctor' quite unsettling. Love the phrasing though. Buzzcocks are a band I feel I should hear more of. I've also been nude in the wilderness on countless occasions...just saying.

That's the first shuffle I've seen where I know none of the artists...I guess I could always do more research.

Let's see how my first shuffle of 2015 goes...

Delay - Too Long For A Headstone
Langhorne Slim - Back To The Wild
Johnny Foreigner - Who Needs Comment Boxes When You've Got Knives?
The Mountain Goats - Alpha Double Negative: Going To Catalina

The Panda Band - We've Got The Face Of The Earth
I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism In Your Yearbook - 2
Charlotte Sometimes - Army Men

blackdragon123 01-01-2015 12:46 PM

Is that cannibal haiku just a random confession you dropped in mid list? Seems that way! I don't actually know any of these bands, but I'm going to assume...that the Panda Band....is a literal description of their line-up. I'm just going to do that.

The Killing Lights - AFI ****
Foxy Lady - The Jimi Hendrix Experience *** (oooh-yeah come on over)
Hearts Burst into Fire - Bullet for My Valentine ***
Pictures of You - The Cure ****
Deep Inside a Shell - Iommi **

Zer0 01-01-2015 04:04 PM

I love Swans, Elliott Smith, Black Flag and The Beatles. Could never really get into Kanye West or Wilco. Not a bad mix though.

Swirlies - You Can't Be Told It, You Must Behold It
The Cure - The Walk
Placebo - Plasticine
Gris - Le Gala Des Gens Heureux
Muddy Waters - Take the Bitter With the Sweet
Dead Prez - Behind Enemy Lines

blackdragon123 01-02-2015 05:42 AM

Gotta love Muddy and the Cure. Still undecided about whether I like Clutch. I remember Placebo's music videos used to scare me.

Spiral Architect - Black Sabbath ****
Flee - Paper Aeroplanes ***
The Ballad of Curtis Loew - Lynyrd Skynrd **** (the finest picker to ever play the blues!)
An Insult to the Dead - Say Anything ***
Aqualung - Jethro Tull ****
Not Up to You - Stereophonics *****
Wishing Well - Black Sabbath **

31/50* could've done better....could've done a lot better.

Charlemagne 01-03-2015 12:45 AM

Alkaline Trio is pretty cool, the rest isn't really my style. I will steal your rating system for this one, because I think it's a good idea.

The Dodos - Going Under ***
